THE WESTERN RATIONAL BEHIND THE UKRAINE NATIONAL FORMATION

I read two articles by the New York Times , dated respectively 1918 and 1915, to ascertain the extent of Ukraine nationalism prior to Ukraine independence and what interests were in question when the US and Britain decided to support the Ukraine state formation.

The first reading is more romantic , while the second reading is more serious and with more relevant historical facts like how and why Ukrainians were enslaved into serfdom by Russia and why the US, Britain and other European nations decided to support the Ukraine .
